My Fair Lady
Music by Frederick Loewe
Book and Lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner
In early 20th Century London, an arrogant elocution expert makes a bet with a colleague that he can turn a cockney guttersnipe into a refined English lady in six weeks by simply correcting her speech. His experiment is successful when he passes her off as aristocracy, but ultimately the newly courageous object of his study demands recognition of her own. Featuring such songs as “I Could Have Danced All Night” and “On The Street Where You Live,” this is truly an icon of American musical theatre.
