JR. PLAYHOUSE SUMMER THEATRE CAMP

After a four-year hiatus, Oak Ridge Playhouse is excited to announce the return of its Jr. Playhouse Summer Theatre Camp for young actors. Providing a fun, unique, and valuable experience for children interested in theatre, the camp will be divided into two groups: the younger group will focus on storytelling and the use of story-telling in performance, while the older group will concentrate on creating a detailed character through various acting techniques and exercises.

Students have the option to attend the one-week course either June 12-16 or June 19-23. The camp will be held at The Dance Centre of Oak Ridge on Monday-Thursday  9AM – 3PM and at Oak Ridge Playhouse on Friday 9AM – 5PM.

Due to limited enrollment, early registration is recommended.*

The camp features two experienced instructors with impressive backgrounds in theatre education and performance:

Clarissa Feldt has worked in the theatre for over 25 years as an actor, director, and educator. Head of the Maryville High School Theatre Department, she holds a BFA in Theatre Performance, a Masters in Drama, and has studied with Tony Award Winning actress Betty Buckley. She has appeared in Oak Ridge Playhouse’s productions of 9 to 5 the Musical and Steel Magnolias.
Ben Park worked as an actor, teacher, and director at the Commonwealth Theatre Center of Louisville, Kentucky for nearly a decade where his main work revolved around teaching Shakespeare to middle schoolers, preparing high school juniors and seniors for college and professional auditions, and running the Alumni Theatre Company where former students could return as adults to perform new work.
*Early cancelations may be given a 50% refund.  Absolutely NO REFUNDS after May 26.
