SARAH, PLAIN AND TALL
Adapted by Joseph Robinette
From the Newberry Award-winning book by Patricia MacLachlan
A gentle and inspiring story about family, friendship, and finding where you belong. When Sarah travels from her home by the sea to the wide, open prairies, Anna and Caleb wonder — will she stay and become part of their family? With warmth, hope, and a little adventure, this charming play brings Patricia MacLachlan’s beloved book to life on stage. Perfect for young audiences, Sarah, Plain and Tall is a beautiful reminder that love and bravery can make even the biggest places feel like home.

Set in a fictional European kingdom, a pair of crafty tailors promise to make the emperor a stunning suit that only the “wise” can see. As he struts through the kingdom in his “invisible” clothes, the townspeople and his royal court can’t help but laugh — but will anyone be brave enough to tell him the truth?
